Seven reasons service-based businesses should be using Squarespace

As a service based business, there comes a point where you need a website. A website that funnels through to your Social Media Platforms, allows for your potential clients to consume your content through the form of blog posts and learn more about your services in turn contacting you and working with you.

There are a few platforms out there that allows you to build your website. There is Wordpress, WIX, Weebly and Shopify just to name a few. It can be overwhelming as to which one is the right one for you and your business. However I would always recommend Squarespace to a service based business.

The seven reasons why I would always recommend Squarespace to a service based business:

All In One Platform

Not only can you design a beautiful, modern and responsive website on Squarespace, but the platform also allows you to buy your domain name (please note that they don’t allow for yet, I would recommend going with Crazy Domains in the meantime, and connecting to Squarespace that way), they are in the early release stages of including an email marketing platform, into the website which is easy to use and design (so you don’t have to use a third party website like Mailchimp - although this has more capabilities at the moment). So as a business owner you don’t need to use a few websites for multiple things, it’s all there in one place for you (goodbye overwhelm).

Squarespace is really user-friendly. The platform is easy to navigate around, with the menus being clean and simple so you can make your way around the site. As well as that, designing is also relatively easy once you learn the platform, once I design my clients website I always make it a priority to either have a training hour or how to videos so I give them the knowledge to be able to maintain and update their website with confidence. So even if you feel tech or design challenged, Squarespace is designed in a way that allows it to be simple for you to use for your business.

Customer Service

You know how you go to a website and want to get in touch with the customer service team and you click on contact us, and then it leads you to another link and then another. By the time you know it you feel like you’re chasing your tail and it’s only resulted in them leading you to a pre-answered question, which never seems to be the answer you want. Not with Squarespace though, it’s easy to find a way to get in touch with an actual person whether it’s via email (24/7) or their online chat (selected hours). The best bit is that they are super helpful and you are never waiting too long to get in touch with someone, so that problem you’ve come across on your website will be fixed momentarily.

Squarespace has a number of simple, easy to follow guides (seriously amazing) for you to follow if you’re ever stuck on anything, like how to transfer a domain name or tagging products on Instagram. They have a knowledge base that is super helpful and includes text, videos and images to help you through your problem and reach a solution.

Mobile Responsiveness

57% of internet users say they won’t recommend a business with a poorly designed website on mobile.

So this basically tells you that having a mobile responsive website is SO SO SO important to your business! The great thing about Squarespace is that all templates are mobile responsive, so they automatically resize to fit mobile screens. No coding involved (WINNING!!). So you can go to sleep at night knowing that your website isn’t affected because it is available and functions on mobile (as long as it’s designed properly! Seriously talk to a designer if you feel like it needs work - If you’re wondering why, read the stat again!).

SEO - Search Engine Optimisation, you know that beast of a thing, that affects your ranking on search engines? Yeah, so instead of needing a plugin to help your SEO, like you would with Wordpress, you don’t need that with Squarespace. Why? Because the legends at Squarespace monitored the best performing plugins on Wordpress and integrated that into the platform itself. Obviously there are other things you can do to improve your SEO, but the majority of it is in the platform.

Say no to plugins and coding

As a service based entrepreneur you have so many hats to wear and sometimes tech and design just isn’t something you’re great at, and the thought of plugins and coding makes you scratch your head and cringe. So the great thing with Squarespace is you don’t need it. You can have a beautiful website up and running without the extra coding.

These are the seven reasons why service based entrepreneurs should be using Squarespace and why it’s an amazing platform for business owners.
